Talks on Artificial Life, Synthetic Biology, and Evolution

I have recently gathered links to some documentaries and public lectures on these subjects.

Sea creatures

Apparently, I am into sea creatures these days. Be it or not, I definitely enjoyed these documentaries about octopi (Discovery Chanel, 50 min.) and dolphins (National Wildlife Federation, 40 min.) lately. If you just want 5 minute teasers to see why they interest me, check out dolphins playing with air bubbles and octopus camouflage on youtube.

To appreciate the variety of marine live, I recommend this 50 min. documentary of the Great Barrier Reef. If you dare to dive deeper, David Attenborough will take you on an amazing 50 min. journey to the bottom of the sea.

Fela Kuti - Black President

The life, music, and politics of Fela Kuti (30 minutes, 4 parts) a Nigerian civil rights activist and afrobeat musician (see wikipedia) at the peak of his career.

The History of Hacking

"The History of Hacking" (50 min. Discovery Channel) featuring Captain Crunch, Steve Wozniak, the Homebrew Computer Club, and Kevin Mitmick.
